Design and Development
Division Board Member

Yvonne Earnshaw
University of Alabama Birmingham

I’m an Assistant Professor in Instructional Design and Development at the University of Alabama Birmingham. For the past 20 years, I worked in industry as an instructional designer/developer, technical writer, and usability consultant.

I have been a member of AECT since 2010 and have been an active member since then attending and presenting at the conference regularly. I have served in a variety of capacities as a job center coordinator and proposal reviewer for several years. Additionally, I have also taken on leadership roles within AECT. I was elected as the GSA Representative to the D&D division (2013-2014) and later served as a D&D Board Associate (2014-2015). I also served as the Communications Officer for the DDL division (2017-2019) and have been the DDL Best Practice Award coordinator (2016-2020). One of my greatest experiences in AECT was serving as a Cochran Leadership Intern (2016-2017) where I was able to learn more about the organization. In 2019, I participated in the Early Career Symposium and this past year, participated as a faculty mentor for the AECT NATO ACT Design & Development Competition.

As a board member of D&D, I hope to serve the division again in a different capacity.
