I would love to serve AECT CLT as the VP of Communications. I have been a member of CLT since I joined AECT in 2018 while I was working on my doctorate. I have since earned my Ed.D. and continue to work as an Associate Professor of Spanish in a community college. I have been creating and teaching online (synchronous/asynchronous) Spanish classes since 2010 where I focus on incorporating the communicative and cultural aspects of the language. Incorporating culture in online world language (WL) courses in higher education is a passion of mine which ties directly to the mission of CLT. I am multilingual, organized, and active on social media. I serve in a similar position for my statewide WL teachers association. I feel that this position would offer me a chance to give back to AECT and CLT for all that I have learned and gained from my membership.
