Holding a Communications position requires one to be a good conduit of information, someone who can succinctly share messages both within the division and between the division and the remainder of AECT. My past experience of being such a conduit includes my role as Communications Officer for GSA throughout the 2021-2022 year. During this tenure, AECT adopted the Higher Logic platform for intra-divisional, inter-divisional, and forward-facing collaborations. I was able to create GSA's first microsite, to help communicate the purpose of the GSA both to AECT and the world at large. I continue to be an active member of the Higher Logic Communications Steering Committee, a group which meets regularly to ensure our adoption and use of Higher Logic is aligned with AECT's mission. I would love the opportunity to bring a designated CLT focus to these conversations so that communication and collaboration needs reflect the values of our division. Of course, I understand the varied experience our members can have with social media and communications platforms-- spaces that have not always traditionally been safe for those with intersectional identities. I will continue to promote CLT events via all available communication channels, including our listserv and via direct announcements at membership meetings. I look forward to the opportunity to serve CLT as the VP of Communications for the next three years to come
