It is a great pleasure for me to introduce myself as a candidate for the CLT representative. I am an international student from China where I earned my bachelor's degree in Arts and Humanities. I am currently a third-year doctoral student from the Instructional Technology program at Ohio University. I have joined the AECT and become a member of the CLT division since 2017.
During the past three years, I worked on several projects focusing on culture, learning, and technology. For example, I investigated how to use simulation-based digital and mobile games to promote social justice education and strategies to achieve diversity and inclusiveness in an online learning environment. I believed that these projects let me better understand the affordances of technology and inspire me to adopt technology for building a democratic, inclusive, and diverse learning community in my future teaching career.
In addition, I assisted in organizing an alternative textbook project supported by the university library. I also served as a conference leader of the Instructional Technology Scholars Association (ITSA) at OU to organize a regional conference, Ohio University EdTech Conference, to promote academic exchange and communication among scholars and educators in the field of instructional technology.
Therefore, I hope that my educational background and leadership experiences enable me to become an ideal candidate for this position. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
