Earlier Career Scholar Award
 (previously ETR&D Young Scholars Award)

SELF-NOMINATIONS ARE ALLOWED.

Purpose:
This award recognizes outstanding paper focusing on a theoretical construct with the potential to guide research and/or development in educational technology

Eligibility:
An individual who does not hold a doctorate degree, or who received a doctorate not more than five (5) years prior to date of submission.. Co-authorship is acceptable provided that the Early Career Scholar applicant is the primary author.

Review Criteria:
The paper must be an original unpublished work dealing with a theoretical construct, analyses of related research, and original recommendations for future research and/or development in educational technology. The paper may NOT be a report of a specific research study or development project. The length should be ~8000 works (not including references) and must conform to the Publications Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition. NOTE: Papers that are original research will be disqualified

Selection:
The selection of the winning paper will be the responsibility of the editor and editorial board of the Research Section of ETR&D. Only a submission judged worthy of the award will be presented.

Nomination Procedures:
Submissions accepted via the journal website https://www.editorialmanager.com/etrd/.
Submit to the Research Section. When asked if this is a Special Issue, please say yes and select the SI with Early Career Scholar Competition.

Nature of Award: $500 will be presented to the winner. The winner will also present their paper at the annual conference after the award has been made. Pending review and revisions, the winning paper may be published in Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D), the refereed scholarly research journal.

Presentation: The recipient(s) is announced during a general ETR&D session at the annual convention.
