Elisa Shaffer
Old Dominion University

Elisa Shaffer has worked at NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising, a professional association for college and university academic advisors, for the past 12 years. At NACADA, she has led, in partnership with SMEs, in developing many 3.5 week short courses for professional development for academic advisors and administrators for the past five years. Advisors from around the globe have taken these short courses to benefit their students and their institutions greatly.

In addition to working full time, Elisa is a second-year Ph.D. student in Instructional Design and Technology at Old Dominion University. She has been a member of the AECT GSA Microlearning Initiative Team for a year and helped produce some of the current microlearning resources. Through her work in the GSA Microlearning Initiative team, she has grown in her depth of knowledge and expanded her network of friends and colleagues.

Elisa is a general member in each of these divisions and seeks to continue connecting the work of these two divisions to increase the excellent work being accomplished throughout AECT.
