Sarah Major
Oklahoma State University

Sarah Major is a Learning, Design, and Technology Ph.D. student at Oklahoma State University. She is pursuing research and learning opportunities related to advancing technology integration in the K-12 setting. Sarah's passion for technology integration blossomed early in her teaching career as student engagement in her classroom increased with the introduction of student devices like iPads and Chromebooks. Over the 8 years of her work in an elementary environment, Sarah has shifted her focus toward teacher training and development and providing equitable and effective technology-supported learning in all classrooms, especially for young learners.

Since starting her program at Oklahoma State, Sarah has been excited to expand her knowledge related to instructional design that includes technology, blended learning models, and providing high quality teacher education programming to K-12 teachers. Sarah currently services as a Graduate Research Associate on the Native Earth | Native Sky Project, a cooperative agreement with NASA that focuses on creating a middle school science curriculum that integrates the traditional stories of 3 major Native American tribal nations in Oklahoma. She also serves as the local school district's Technology Integration Coordinator where she provides technology integration support to all teachers and facilitates innovation and development of technology programs. Sarah holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology with a Library Media Specialization and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education both from Oklahoma State University. She anticipates completing her Ph.D. at OSU in May of 2024. Go Pokes!
