Cecil R. Short
Texas Tech University

Dr. Cecil R. Short has participated in Teacher Education Division (TED) Board Member meetings since joining AECT in 2017, and received the division's Smaldino and Herring Teacher Leadership Award in 2020. He currently serves as the Vice President of Communications for the TED and Co-Editor in Chief of TED's Journal of Technology Integrated Lessons and Teaching.

As an Assistant Professor of Practice in Blended and Personalized Learning at Texas Tech University, Dr. Short works closely with P-12 teachers, administrators, and instructional coaches across the state of Texas. He is a co-author of the openly licensed K-12 Blended Teaching guidebooks used in teacher education programs around the world, and recently served as a co-editor of a TED special issue of Tech Trends focused on P-12 distance and blended learning. Dr. Short is excited about the prospect of continuing to serve the Teacher Education Division as Vice President of Communications, and would like to use the opportunity to continue finding ways to communicate with TED members and improve TED's online presence and communications. As the current Vice President of Communications for TED, Dr. Short has helped AECT at large and Interim Executive Director, Ellen Wagner, in reviewing new ways to communicate and interact with AECT members.
