Teacher Education
President Elect

Jacob Hall
Syracuse University

Dr. Jacob A. Hall is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology in the Childhood/Early Childhood Education Department at SUNY Cortland. He has a Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University. His research interests include the design of virtual and blended instruction, computational thinking with interactive and emerging technologies, and preservice teachersí technology integration development.

After beginning the first five years of his career in the elementary classroom, Dr. Hall has spent the past nine years working with preservice teachers in his technology integration, online design, and media literacy courses. Since 2018, Dr. Hall has served as a TED member-at-large. In this capacity, he has reviewed conference proposals, helped refine TEDís lesson repository, created marketing materials, and facilitated TED sessions. At the 2020 and 2021 annual conventions, Dr. Hall collaborated with the TED board to host their Digital Escape Room workshop. This workshop raises funds to support graduate student involvement in the division. Alongside fellow TED members, he co-edited the recent TechTrends special issue focused on blended and distance learning for P-12 contexts and worked with a TED subcommittee to launch a new peer-reviewed journal-the Journal of Technology Integrated Lessons and Teaching. As the division continues its contributions to the theory, research, and practice of teacher development, Dr. Hall is excited to build upon TEDís emerging projects and carry on their mission to be a dynamic, professional community.
