Meimei Xu
University of Georgia
My name is Meimei Xu. I am currently a doctoral candidate in the Learning, Design, and Technology program at the University of Georgia. I was selected as an advanced doctoral student participant for the AECT early career symposium in 2021.
My research interests include teachers’ decision-making and instructional design for technology integration, and professional development for teacher education and instructional design in digital learning contexts. Currently I am working on my dissertation as well as some research projects related to needs assessment and decision-making. I have been teaching pre-service teachers educational technology and design thinking at UGA since 2018.
Before I joined UGA as a doctoral student, I had several years of work experience as an instructional designer and program manager for online K-12 curriculum development projects for Georgia Virtual School and Kennesaw State University. I would sincerely like to support the AECT community and become a liaison for all the board members within and outside the Research and Theory Division. If chosen to serve as the AECT RTD representative, I will collaborate and work with other professionals to help engage more graduate students in the division. I’m looking forward to serving as the RTD graduate student representative for 2022-2023.
