International Visual Literacy Association's Description
IVLA -- an interdisciplinary association of researchers, educators, designers, media specialists, and artists dedicated to the concepts and principles related to visual literacy -- provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information related to expanding the understanding, application and practice of visual literacy. We are concerned with issues dealing with education, instruction or training using multiple visual-related tools and applications of various modes of visual communication. Our members represent a wide range of disciplines including the arts, business, communications, education, films, health informatics, instructional technology, library studies, photography, and the sciences.
We invite you to propose a presentation of your research, teaching, and design practices on visual literacy integration and visual learning, especially as they involve learning technologies. With this year’s convention focus on learning for all, we hope that you will join us in lively, engaging discussions and interactions in Kansas City! We look forward to the continued collaborations between IVLA and AECT.
