| | Digital Learning and Social Media Research Group
The group studies digital learning with specific emphasis on the use of social media for teaching, learning, and scholarship resulting in the publication of high-quality research that leaves a lasting impact on the field and the provision of authentic professional development opportunities for students and early-career academics. Veletsianos & Kimmons have developed a cross-institutional research collaborative that achieves an exceptionally high level quality and quantity. In addition, they have instituted a mechanism for perpetuating and supporting this highly productive research process with young scholars spanning multiple institutions, thereby breaking down traditional barriers to research mentoring in the field that may be preventing young scholars from beginning research in the target area due to limited access to expertise in the relatively new research areas of social media analysis and data mining. |
