Dr. Theodore J. Kopcha is an Associate Professor of Learning, Design, and Technology in the College of Education at the University of Georgia. He is a former secondary mathematics teacher whose current research explores the integration of innovative technologies into the classroom and connecting them to mathematics. Over the past decade, Dr. Kopcha has worked closely with both pre-service and in-service teachers and has published extensively on teacher professional development and technology integration. His funded research (e.g., Public Service and Outreach Fellowship, 2015-2016; National Endowment for the Humanities, 2018-present) reflects his focus on improving teacher education; his projects provide support to rural communities who are integrating technology into various disciplines through project-based learning. He has previously served as president of the Teacher Education Division for the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and is excited to serve the Teacher Education Division again.
