Yunjeong Chang

Yunjeong Eunice Chang is an assistant professor in the Department of Learning and Instruction at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY, Buffalo). Trained as an instructional technologist and a learning scientist, she has conducted interdisciplinary research with scholars in Science, Computer Science, Engineering, and Special Education.

Her research focuses on engaging cognitively and culturally diverse students in the student-centered online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning environments in multi-disciplinary contexts. She earned her PH.D. in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of Georgia and refined her research while working as a research scientist and a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Virginia. While co-leading NSF grants, she served as a grant reviewer for national agencies and reviewed SUNY instructional technology grants and National Institutions of Health (NIH) education grants.

For over 10 years, she has been developing meaningful professional experiences through attending and serving AECT. Most recently, her collaborative research was awarded in Featured Research of 2018 from the Research and Theory Division (RTD). She was a participant of the 2014 NSF/AECT Early Career Research Symposium and was a convention planner for Korean Society for Educational Technology division in AECT from 2011 to 2013. Based on the valuable and meaningful professional experiences she has earned from AECT, she is very committed to broaden her contribution to AECT as an RTD Board member.
