Kanupriya Singh
University of Missouri-Columbia

My name is Kanu Priya Singh. I am a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications (2003) from Pune University, India, and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems (2011) from Drexel University, Philadelphia. Before joining my Ph.D. studies in 2019, I had worked as an Information Technology process consultant at Accenture Solutions in India from 2012 to 2018. I am broadly interested in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Supported Cooperative Work. My research interests include information and interaction design, human-centered computing, and collaborative learning in a distributed environment, including workplaces and higher education.

Much of my current research focus is related to the human-centered design, development, and formative evaluation of data-intensive computational technologies in the context of cyberinfrastructure. My eight-plus years of industry experience, together with my research and teaching experiences have primed me in interdisciplinary collaborative settings, provide service, and teach courses to students in a way to support them in their academic journey and professional enrichment. Through my experiences, I have gained proficiency in technical and analytical skills, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis, instructional design, interaction design, project management, database management, educational technology design, Agile methods, human computer interaction and design, learning design, and learning analytics.

I am an active member of the Association for Education Communications Technology (AECT) presenting my learning experience design research within the division of Design and Development. As AECT’s D&D Board Associate, my goal would be to creatively sustain existing initiatives and explore more collaboration opportunities with other divisions and active engagement with members through newsletters, webinars, and seminars. I look forward to the opportunity to serve D&D as a board associate and to continue the division's excellent work.
