Rebecca Reese
Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design

Dr. Rebecca M. Reese is the Director of Online Learning with Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and serves as adjunct faculty for Educational Technology and Instructional Design programs. Her research focuses on the implementation of emerging technologies to increase equity and access in online and hybrid environments and incorporation of game theory to enhance knowledge transfer and reduce cognitive load. Her work seeks to connect theory with practical application thereby contextualizing knowledge, skills and experience for students and new professionals in the field. As an active member of AECT since 2007, Dr. Reese has served in several capacities including:

• President for the Division of Distance Learning,
• member of the Accessibility Committee and Professional Ethic Committee (PEC),
• co-chair for the Social Justice Taskforce (SJT),
• assisted with conference planning and the Design & Development showcase,
• volunteers as a mentor with the AECT Internship Program,
• and is on the editorial team for the Journal of Applied Instructional Design (JAID).

In addition, she received two presidential service awards for her work with AECT.

It would be an honor to serve as Board Representative for RTD. My membership and work in AECT have provided essential knowledge, experience, and connections. As your representative, I would seek to understand the current and future needs of the division to support RTD’s core programs, such as the Spotlight Competition and the Early Career Symposium.

If elected, I would pursue communication that informs membership of activities within the organization to ensure transparency, authenticity, and accountability. I am excited about the opportunity to collectively work with other AECT members as we grow and promote our discipline.
