Legacy Traditional Schools

Dr. Atikah Shemshack is a big advocate of children's rights and meet their needs no matter their obstacles. She always tries to help individuals be creative, free, emotionally healthy, follow their dreams, and be global citizens ready for the future. She is currently a school principal in Texas and has been an educator in K-12 setting for over a decade and K-12 Campus administrator since 2014 and worked with teachers to help them grow professionally. She has studied teacher education and supported teachers at different grade levels. She has presented at international conferences about teacher support and education. She believes in diversity and leading by example to show our future -the youth- that kindness by heart, being there for others, being respectful of differences, and always being responsible for our actions are the core features of human beings and what makes us healthy, skilled, creative, future-ready, global citizens. She always works to ensure unleash each child's creativity and keeps them motivated to learn lifelong and access the education they strive for, which will help individuals reach their full potential. She is a social, practical, motivated, and fast learner, which helps her adapt quickly to new environments, and she is passionate about improving the learning experience for learners. Atikah's motto is; if you want to change, be the change! It does not matter how small the change is; it makes a difference! She is always available to help other educators guide them to improve their skills and support them on their path to lead our future to reach their full potential. She is currently serving as Board member at Large for the LED division and had served as GSA Webinar Planning Coordinator and looking to keep her position as a board member at TED and in the large AECT community. She believes her knowledge and experience with teacher education, communication skills, and social personality make her a perfect candidate for the position. Thank you for the consideration!
