Culture, Learning and Technology
President-Elect Designate

Sylvia Rogers
Auburn University

I got my PhD in 2014 from the University of South Alabama and currently I work as a Curriculum Administrator at the Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University. Previously I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of South Alabama.

I have been an active member of AECT since 2010 and a member of the CLT division since I first joined AECT. I have served on the Awards committee for this division and volunteered as reader for proposals. I have also had the pleasure of serving as Secretary of the Research and Theory Division for 2017.

If elected, I would be honored to serve as the President Elect Designate for this Culture, Learning, and Technology Division. This position is important as it affords the opportunity to prepare to be the president of the division. If elected, I would look forward to the opportunity to work closely with the President Elect. Culture is an important mediator for learning and the use of technology. Studying phenomena that are related to this intersection is vital for the field of Instructional Design and learning in general. We, as Instructional Design professionals, are perfectly positioned to use our knowledge and skills to create learning environments that take into account diverse learners in a wide range of areas including online learning, K-12, corporate learning, and others.

I would be grateful for the opportunity to serve as President-Elect designate and would appreciate your vote!
