Doris Bolliger
Old Dominion University

Dr. Doris U. Bolliger is an Associate Professor at Old Dominion University. She earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida in 2002. Prior to her position at ODU, she was an Associate Professor at the University of Wyoming and St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Since 2002, she has taught a variety of courses, including instructional technology and instructional design courses. Her research focuses on instructional system design elements in effective distance education. She is interested in elements that contribute to faculty and student satisfaction in online learning environments. Her secondary research interests are the utilization of mobile technologies in informal settings such as in outdoor education programs or foreign language learning.

Dr. Bolliger has been a member of AECT since 2001 and has enjoyed serving in different capacities. She served as proposal reviewer, session facilitator, and reviewer for journals (e.g., TechTrends and ETR&D). In 2009/2010, she was the President of the Multimedia Production Division. She has also served on the Nominating Committee, and the Outstanding Book Award Committee for the Design & Development Division and Research & Theory Division. Currently, she is a member of the Leadership Development Committee, and she serves as the Member at Large for the Research & Theory Division. She is honored to run as a candidate for another term to serve on the RTD Board.
