Currently, Beth is co-chair of East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Professional and Secondary Education and a co-founder of Summit School of the Poconos that created a K-9 school based on collaborative - ideal design. Her interest in systemic change in education began in high school; she noticed a underrepresentation of minorities in her advanced classes, though fifty percent of the school was represented by minorities.  Since that time, Beth was motivated to understand the complexities that drive the disparities, changes and maintain the status quo within the educational system.  If elected, Beth Rajan Sockman looks forward to serving in Systems Thinking and Change which exists to better understand and develop positive change for the evolving needs of today’s innovative society.
