Heather Leary

Heather Leary is an Assistant Professor of Instructional Psychology and Technology at Brigham Young University. She received her PhD from Utah State University in 2012 where she focused on K-12 teacher professional learning with technology and problem-based learning. She was a postdoc at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2011-2015 where she managed three National Science Foundation grants while researching K-12 teacher technology integration and curriculum writing/adaptations.

Dr. Leary has been an active member of AECT since 2007, where she has presented her research each year at convention, participated on committee's, and in 2011 participated in the NSF Early Career Symposium. Her research interests include problem-based learning, professional learning for K12 teachers, design-based implementation research, open education, self-directed learning and learning transfer, and 21st century skills and literacy.
