Design and Development
Division Board Member

Jessica Resig
Pennsylvania State University

I am the Director of the Center for eLearning Initiatives at Penn State Erie, the Behrend College, and I am seeking to fill the position of Design and Development Board Member.

Since becoming an AECT member, I have had the privilege of serving the organization and the D&D Division in a variety of ways. I have acted as the GSA newsletter coordinator, a Design and Development Showcase volunteer, a 2014 Design and Development Competition Finalist, and the GSA Representative to the D&D Board (2015-2016). In 2016-2017, I had the privilege of being a D&D Board Associate, during which time I co-created and facilitated the D&D Reads program. I also had the honor of being a Cochran Leadership Intern at the 2017 AECT Convention in Jacksonville.

I earned my Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology at Old Dominion University and my M.S. in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University. Prior to starting my career at Penn State, I worked as a secondary English and Social Studies teacher. I also currently teach an undergraduate course in data visualization and graduate courses in instructional technology and educational research. I have truly enjoyed blending the roles of practitioner and researcher to devise, refine, and implement instructional strategies that best meet learners' needs.

Each of my past experiences has contributed to my strong understanding of the organization, and if elected, I hope to contribute to the D&D Division by actively advancing division goals and initiatives in the years to come.
