Regina Bale
Florida Gulf Coast University

Regina Bale is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University (2009 elementary education & 2022 curriculum & instruction educational technology) and will pursue her doctoral degree in learning design & innovation at FGCU as well. Between degree programs, Regina taught elementary and middle school science before becoming a science academic coach for elementary and middle school instruction at Collier County Public Schools in Florida.  She joined AECT and GSA after her first semester of graduate studies for her master's degree and participated in the last two AECT international conventions. Currently Regina also works at FGCU as the environmental education coordinator developing K12 curriculum based on the current ecological research taking place at FGCU’s The Water School. She develops and implements K12 teacher training in the five-county region of southwest Florida that the university serves. She is the fourth author of a submitted manuscript titled Hybrid Platforms to Create K-12 Communities of Practice: Integration of modeling and schoolyard science for climate education. Her current research projects involve the integration of service learning into higher ed environmental GIS courses and using ArcGIS with K12 students to collect and analyze ecology data during science and math instruction.  Regina’s research interests include learner experience design, assessment and evaluation, culturally responsive pedagogy, and universal design for learning. Regina is at the beginning of her graduate journey and would love the opportunity to serve the GSA and AECT in a leadership role. As the Design and Development Division rep for GSA Regina will attend meetings, communicate information clearly, and be an advocate for GSA within the division.
