Ashrafunnesa Flora ( MSEd, Northern Illinois University) is a second year International PhD student from Bangladesh. She works as a Graduate Assistant and teaches two online courses at ETRA-NIU. She is Secretary of GSA-ETRA-NIU and student affiliate at Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Language & Literacy (CISLL). She did her Intern at Digital Convergence Lab (DCL), NIU. She did Two other masters in Plant Science and Microbiology. She started her teaching career in 2004 as Biology and Human Biology teacher at secondary school and was tutor at Student Athlete Academic Success at (SAAS) NIU. She is an advocate of scaffolding in student learning. Her research interest includes Computational Thinking and its integration in STEM curriculum, Open source distant learning, Cybersecurity in Education, therapeutic and educational game design. She shared her research ideas and teaching experiences in COE Research Symposium, Faculty Development Workshop at NIU and AECT Convention, 2017.  She is interested in Mixed Methods research design, teaching quantitative research methodology and writing grant. She is passionate about teaching and learning and believes that her multidisciplinary background and teaching experience is a great advantage to her research aspiration. She believes Distant learning is the blessing of twenty first century that avail learners self-paced education, able to overcome demographic barrier and able to reach out to senior, special need and minority population and provide a platform for bring the entire community together. She would be very happy to be a part of it and serve as a treasurer.
