Graduate Student Assembly
Research and Theory Division Representative

Jiaqi Yu
Iowa State University

As a Ph.D. candidate and instructional designer at Iowa State University (ISU), I would be honored to have your support and ask for your vote as the Graduate Student Representative of the Research and Theory Division. Through my life journeys moving around the world, I got the opportunity to teach students across a variety of age groups and became passionate about empowering students through emerging technologies and online learning. As I delved deeper into the field, my research has been focusing on online/blended learning, instructional design, usability testing, and program evaluation in higher education contexts.

I have been actively involved in multiple professional organizations and conferences in this field and serving as a proposal reviewer since 2015. Within my institution, I have been volunteering to help organize various departmental events and serving as a representative for the Dean's Student Advisory Council. I was also the co-founder of the first learning community for international graduate students at ISU and organized a series of workshops and events that benefit international students. If I had the honor to become a GSA division representative, I will continue to represent the voice of graduate students and serve as a liaison between the division and GSA.
