Graduate Student Assembly
Emerging Learning Technologies Representative

Sagun Giri
Penn State University

Hello everyone!

I am a PhD Candidate and research assistant at Penn State University! I am interested in designing activities that support creativity, imagination and iterative problem solving. I believe in learning by doing and I am interested in engaging students in activities that shape and encourage learning through tinkering, recursive designs and making using various digital and physical fabrication toolkits.

I am running for the Emerging Learning Technologies Representative for the Graduate Student Assembly. I would like to contribute and work on projects that support the integration of innovative technology in educational settings and work on initiatives that support educators in developing a sustainable plan for technology incorporation in their organizations.

I have been active with the AECT and GSA for the past three years. This year, as the GSA representative for the Research and Theory division (RTD), I worked on AECT GSA leadership webinar series introducing the RTD division and it’s activities. I also worked on a TechTrends GSA column with my GSA friends and colleagues highlighting the pathways to participation and leadership within the AECT and GSA. If elected, I plan to work on expanding communication between the GSA and the Division of Emerging Learning Technologies. I want to also help out with conference planning with both the GSA and Division of Emerging Learning Technologies.

I appreciate your consideration for the position of Emerging Learning Technologies Representative for GSA.
